Yamaha Ray Z comes with it a series of upgrades that range from roller-rockers in the engine, to updated carbs, new suspension settings, new frame materials and so forth.

Yamaha India claims the 53kmpl from the scooter, plus better ride quality as well as better behaviour when ridden two-up.

Yamaha also comes with two motorcycles, called the “SZ-S “and the “SZ-RR” which replace the erstwhile SZ-X. Both are new offerings of their 150 cc SZ series which are respectively priced at Rs 59,500 and Rs 62,500 (both ex-showroom, Delhi).

Yamaha currently sells about Yamaha Ray’s 10,000 units per month while they have set targets of about 5,000 units of their new Ray Z.

The vice president of General Motor Inida P Balnedran said, “We have decided to increase the prices of all our vehicles up to Rs.10,000 depending upon the model with effect from the 1st week of June on account of increase in transportation costs/logistics due to hike in diesel price. In percentage terms, the increase goes up to 1.5 per cent depending on the model”.

The Indian Govt has partially de-controlled the diesel prices since January 2013, and since the oil marketing companies earn the liberty to hike the diesel prices by up to 50 paisa per litre every month, and it will continue for next few months till the entire losses are recovered.

Few days back, the OMCs has raised the diesel prices by Rs. 1.02 lakh per litre, which is the fourth increase in rates since January 2013.

The Mahindra’s New H-Series comes with powered by the world class mHawk engine. H-Series Xylo has been made available in three variants H4, H8 and H9.

The H-Series Xylo will available in dolphin gray color and H8, H9 are priced similar to that of the outgoing E-Series Variants.

The Xylo H4 comes with ABS, while the H8 comes with ABS and Airbags both. The Xylo H9 is a feature rich variant with features such as Voice Command Technology, Digital Drive Assist System and Cruise Control. The H-Series Xylo churns out the maximum power output 118bhp and 280Nm of torque.

The new H-Series Xylo is also ready with key safety features such as ABS with EBD, Extra Stability Technology Suspension (EST), Dual Airbags, Reverse Parking Assist, etc.

Mated to a five-speed manual transmission, power is transmitted to the rear-wheels. The price of the Chevrolet Enjoy starts at Rs 5.49 lakh for its base petrol model Enjoy LS. It is one of Chevrolet India’s three products borrowed from China’s GM-SAIC joint venture.

The Chevrolet Enjoy originally called the Wuling Enjoy MPV. The vehicle will be contest such as Maruti Ertiga, Tata Winger and Mahindra Xylo.

Chevrolet Enjoy comes with 1.3-litre multi-jet engine from FIAT and will also feature 175/65 R14 tyres.

Sastry Vempati, vice president, product planning, General Motors India said that “Sail Sedan, the first launch of the year and the MPV would meet the needs of domestic market and establish the company as a key competitor”.

The Feliz trim is available in two variants VXi and VDi trims at a premium of Rs. 20,000. The price of Feliz VXi is Rs. 6.89 lakh and the Feliz VDi for Rs. 8.24 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

The Feliz comes with exterior and interior upgrades, fog lamps and wing mirrors, silver-finish front grille, a reverse parking sensor, a rear spoiler, beige steering wheel cover and seat covers, new sill guards and floor mats. The engine options carry over unchanged.

Honda has introduced the new Brio in six different variants — EMT, EXMT, SMT, VMT, VXMT and VXAT, the all priced in the range from Rs 4.12 lakh to Rs 6.13 lakh. For the metallic color of the model, an additional Rs 3,500 will be charged.

The new variants of Honda Brio comes with a 4-cylinder 1.2-litre i-VTEC petrol engine. The company claims that it gives a mileage of 19.4 kilometers per liter for manual transmission and 16.5 kilometers per liter for automatic transmission and upgrades including features such as driver seat, height adjuster and rear windshield, defogger, it added.

The company said, it has “introduced new variants of Honda Brio with key upgrades to make the car more convenient, comfortable and pleasurable to drive for its customers”.

Honda Cars India’s Senior Vice President (Marketing and Sales) Jnaneswar Sen said: “Brio is a significant model for Honda in India as the car added more than 32,000 happy customers in the last fiscal year.We are pleased to announce upgrades to the Brio with added comfort and convenience in its segment.”

The bike comes with Combi Brake System (CBS) as an option and will enter showrooms this May.

The Honda CB Trigger, which was unveiled in March, The Pricing of the Honda CB Trigger 150cc bike is slightly higher in Mumbai and starts at Rs 72,431 (ex-showroom Mumbai).

The bike comes with four-stroke and powered by a 150cc, single-cylinder, 5-speed gearbox with air-cooled engine. The Honda CB Trigger generates 14bhp maximum power at 8500rpm, while peak torque is 1.28kgm at 6500rpm.

This very same transmission is also found in Renault Scala automatic. The automatic variant of the Nisan Sunny will be available to you for Rs.8.90 lacs

The Sunny CVT’s fuel economy is just a shade better than the Ford Fiesta automatic that comes rated with a mileage figure of 16.97 kmpl.

Nisan Sunny X-Tronic CVT It is also powered by the same 1.5-liter petrol engine which also powers the manual transmission versions. But in the automatic version the engine puts out a max power of 99.6bhp as opposed to 97bhp in the manual variant.

“Dream Neo is Honda’s next big step towards creating deep inroads into the Indian commuter segment,” Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) President and CEO Keita Muramatsu said.

The new entry-level ‘Dream’ series motorcycle is powered by a 110 cc engine and the company claims that it will give a mileage of 74 km per litre of petrol.

HMSI’s other mass segment bike ‘Dream Yuga’, with an 110 cc engine, is available between Rs.45,101 and Rs.48,619 (ex-showroom, Delhi).

Recently, Honda’s compatriot Yamaha had said it is working towards rolling out the world’s Lowest Price motorcycle at around $500 from India with the setting up of its fifth global research and development center here.

On the other hand Royal Enfield launches Bullet 500 for Rs 1.53 lakh, the Bullet comes with a 500 cc carburetted UCE and a powerful torque that offers better and very accessible power.

The Bullet 500 also comes with several other enhancements like front disc brakes, electric start and gas filled shock absorbers.

The new Bullet 500 will also be available in the Forest Green colour.

The petrol version of the new Honda Amaze is available at Rs. 4.99 lakh (ex-showroom New Delhi). Similarly, the base model of its diesel variant is priced at Rs. 5.99 lakh (ex-showroom New Delhi).

A Honda diesel variant of the vehicle is more powerful, but it is also most fuel efficient, at 25.8 kmpl. With the 1.5 litre i-DTEC diesel engine under its hood, a power of 99 bhp is generated. Similarly, the petrol version comes with a 1.2 litre i-VTEC engine, good enough to produce 87 bhp of peak power.

Honda Cars India to launch a capable vehicle in the diesel category, as competition was bringing the Japanese company down.

Honda decided that diesel variants need to be launched by them throughout the Indian market and so, the Amaze was born. As per industry sources, Brio diesel and Jazz diesel are also expected to be launched in 2014.
