Citibank pays Rs 950cr for 3 lakh sq ft in Mumbai

MUMBAI: Citibank has signed the biggest commercial office space deal in the country, shelling out Rs 950 crore for about 3 lakh sq ft spread over six floors of a 12-storey building in the Bandra-Kurla Complex.

The Citi mega buy comes in a year when firms are tightening belts under the cloud of an economic slowdown.

Citibank India has purchased 2.97 lakh sq ft space at the First International Financial Centre (FIFC) Tower, constructed by the Purnendu Chatterjee-promoted TCG Urban Infrastructure and New York-based realty firm Vornado Realty Trust, approximate rate of Rs 31,000 per sq ft.
