The writer Salman Rushdie asked to skip Jaipur Literature festival?
Jaipur: Controversial writer Salman Rushdie may have to give the Jaipur Literary Festival Celebration a miss. Reviews recommend the organizers of the annual fest have asked him to back off following direct orders from Islamist categories.
In a bid to prevent problems, the Rajasthan government evidently convinced the organizers of the Jaipur Literary Festival Celebration to ask Rushdie to call off his check out.
Reports say the government considered Rushdie’s existence would make a protection possibility in light of calls protests by some radical groups.
One team had even provided a cash reward to anyone who thrown a shoes at him.
As a result the Booker-winning writer’s activities are no longer described on the festival’s website. Rushdie was planned to talk on January 20 and 21.
