Pakistani Officials deny the reports and say that Sarabjit’s treatment will continue in the country (Pakistan).

Sarabjit was hospitalized in a Lahore hospital, after a brutal assault, for treatment. The four-member medical board headed by Jinnah Hospital Chief executive Mahmood Shaukat conducted a routine examination of Sarabjit this morning, officials said.

Officials rejected a media report that says the board was mulling a proposal to send Sarabjit abroad for the better treatment.

“No such proposal has been under consideration,” an official of the health department of Punjab province quoted as saying.

“In fact, the medical board has no mandate,” said the official, on the condition of anonymity.

The medical board is “minutely monitoring the patient” and Sarabjit is being given the “best treatment” at Jinnah Hospital, the official said.

No of two-judge bench led by Justice Jawad S Khwaja ordered the Interior Secretary to take steps to restrict Musharraf from travelling abroad.

The bench issued the instruction after hearing initial arguments on 5 petitions asking the apex court to direct the Govt to prosecute Musharraf under the High Treason (Punishment) Act of 1973.

Supreme court also issued notices to the Govt, Pervez Musharraf and other respondents to answer the petitions and adjourned the case till Tuesday.

The lawyers argued that the Musharraf had breached the Constitution by announcing an emergency in 2007 and should be put on trial for treason.

They pointed out that the Senate or the parliament upper house had approved a resolution in January 2012 that said Musharraf should be arrested on his come back but the Govt had not acted on it.

The Govt had failed to act on an earlier Supreme Court order that instructed authorities take action against Pervez Musharraf for violating the Constitution.
