Chhattisgarh news: An attempt of government scheme Padhai Tohar Yojna failed

Raipur. The school is closed since March, and new ways are being experimented by the government so that children can be kept close to studies. Especially in the village area where to make sure that the children must attend the class is a challenge for the government, officials are trying to host online classes so that children must remain connected with their studies. That is the reason why the Chhattisgarh government launched Padhai Tohar Yojna scheme for children living in the village.

But now it seems that this scheme is not working anymore, according to the programme the government arranged the special online classes for children so that they can continue their study. Due to Covid-19, children are facing loss in studies. Due to which not only the state but all the educational institutes of the country are closed, the school management and teachers are also suffering.

In most of the schools, the administration and teachers are yet not received their salary. By analysing that all the private institutions started the online classes but due to the lack of facilities of smart devices in the village schools Padhai Tohar Yojna scheme of the government got failed.

Problems in implementation?

According to the report, announcements have been made for all the children in the village to attend the online class. As per the report, it is found that not a single student is attending the class. In a few areas where the students are attending the class, it is found that children are facing difficulties to study from one device.

In the Gram Panchayat Tapakra, Jashpur, it was found that children are instead of getting involved in the studies are listening to songs in mobile, or watching movies and web series. Now the compulsion is such that the teacher is also compelled, they say that the children either do not attend or they do not like to study.

When questions were asked in this regard from parents, we found that their concern is also genuine. Because in most of the villages there is no access, no internet, smartphones and unavailability of the multiple smart devices. The kids who are not attending the class are found busy in plucking mangoes from trees, while some are busy in grazing goats. 

The parents also complained that due to having one mobile device in a family, it becomes difficult to engage it for a long time. All these reasons seem to be genuine, and it is essential to work on that segment if the government wants the children from the village area to attend the class regularly.

Good News for Private Schools

Good news is coming for private schools is that now they can take an online class and can implement the regular courses, and also can take the tuition fee. But the officials gave a strict instruction that only to collect the tuition fees and not to increase the charges on any condition.
