Durg: Collector allows Sweets and rakhi shops to open from 6 AM to 10 AM on the day of Raksha Bandhan. No Shops will stay open after 10 AM, if any shops found selling after this time slot strict actions will be taken against him so that no one else breaks the rules.

A few days ago Chattisgarh Government issued an order that no shops will be open during these festivals. But on Sunday morning many business owners who sell rakhi, sweets, clothes and fancy items have requested the collector to allow them to open their shops on Raksha Bandhan.

This is the first time many business associations are facing significant losses due to lockdown, and even after their appeal to government officials, their request is getting neglected.

Many business owners have planned for these festival seasons before the spread of coronavirus and spend all their money on filling up the stocks.

Business Association Request Collector

Business owners raised the point if they don’t get the permission then they will suffer huge losses and may surely their life become miserable.

Today Collector Sarvesher Bhure has issued an order to open the shops from 6 AM to 10 AM. No one will be allowed to sell the items after this time slot to avoid the spread of coronavirus.

And now they are not even getting permissions to open the shops during the festival season so all their investment on these goods will go in vain. Also, they have to pay the interest rates on the loan amount taken from the bank and in coming days they will drown in debts.

Chhattisgarh is under lockdown since 22 July, and still, the numbers of COVID-19 cases are increasing day by day, so the government has taken the strict decision of not allowing anyone to move out of their house until they need any essential goods or services.

But many shop owners are still operating during the Lockdown after hiding from police during morning time when people have permission to go out and buy essential items. Currently, Lockdown in Chhattisgarh ends on 6 August, but if the cases kept on increasing, then it will be further extended keeping everyone’s health and safety in mind.
